Friend, you are one of a kind. Beautiful, unique, and extraordinary. No one else sees the world precisely as you do or can offer it what you can. Beloved, believe in your strengths, your potential, your God given value and importance. "The Help" is a favorite book and movie of mine. In the movie a young girl is being tucked into bed by her underprivileged nanny. The nanny, who recognizes the lack of love this little girl is receiving from her parents, tells the girl to repeat after her the phrase, "You is kind. You is smart. You is important." I love how this scene reveals the Nanny as the truly wealthy one. Full of wisdom, she understands and values the important things in life and chooses to pour love into this precious little girl. I know I am ranting a bit...forgive me...its just that I see so many women who do not comprehend their value and potential.
Identities are lost in endless comparison with others and are drowned by a sea of insecurities.
One of my passions for Of Beauty and Grace is to see you, the reader, grow and fully become the person you were designed to be. One of my very favorite quotes comes from a man named Peter Marshall. He says, "Don't be ashamed of high ideals, dreams, and beautiful thoughts." I love this. Don't settle. Strive to grow and change. Work on your soul as much as your outer appearance. Beauty comes from the inside. Always.
I love how this metallic Alice and Olivia skirt captures light and reflection. Honestly, it is what inspired my writing today. Reflect. Captivate. Light up the world around you. Clothing can be a beautiful (and super fun) reflection of what our souls are feeling inside. "Man fully alive is to the glory of God." - Iraneus
