Happy Stormy Monday!
Rainy days always call for moody music and you really cannot get much moodier than indie rock icon, Elliott Smith. Any of you who are familiar with Elliott's music will recall this street mural from the cover of his final album, Figure 8. My husband and I were lucky enough to see him play an intimate show at the infamous Crystal Ballroom in Portland, so this was a pretty cool find up in L.A.
British "It girl" Alexa Chung recently released a 70's inspired line in collaboration with AG denim. Most of the line sold out before it was made available to the public, but I was lucky enough to grab this high-waisted denim A-line skirt from Saks before it disappeared. Lucky for you, it's now restocked in most places! The sizing is more British so definitely order up a size (or two). I also found a good budget friendly version from asos (for under $75-see below). A scoop neck sailor striped shirt in navy and red from Anthropologie, and 70's inspired round tortoise sunnys play nicely off the retro vibe. A mini navy crossbody bag by See by Chloe and nude patent leather sandals by Steve Madden add a bit of modern sophistication to this flirty look.
